ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) – ‘Elvis’ is coming to Escanaba to help a women’s organization raise money for scholarships.
The Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO) gives scholarships to college students in need whether they are straight out of high school or returning after a break.
PEO International has 121 chapters in Michigan. In Escanaba, there are two chapters.
Friday night, Chapter EE is holding an Elvis impersonator show with Entertainer Jon Sampson. The concert is free, but an organizer said the group is hoping for scholarship donations.
“The more money we raise the larger the scholarships and the more girls that we can help, girls or women,” PEO Member Jody Jaeger said. “Anyone can come to the Elvis concert. My sweet little four-year-old granddaughter’s coming as well as my 36-year-old daughter.”
The concert is at the Bonifas Arts Center Theater at 700 1st Avenue South.
Doors open at 6 p.m. ‘Elvis’ starts singing at 7 p.m. and leaves the building at 9 p.m.
