The North Central Missouri College (NCMC) Foundation has announced that Jacob Jackson, a senior at Gallatin High School and participant in the NCMC Upward Bound program, has been awarded the Jack N. Young, Mildred M. Young, Noble J. Young, and Myra A. Young Upward Bound Dual Credit Scholarship. The scholarship, valued at $324, will be applied to his dual credit tuition.
Jackson, who resides in Gallatin, Missouri, plans to continue his education at NCMC after high school and subsequently transfer to the University of Central Missouri to pursue a degree in criminology.
The NCMC Upward Bound program is fully funded by the U.S. Department of Education with an allocation of $309,505 for the current year. The program supports high school students by providing academic instruction, advisement, and skills development needed for successful college entry. It also offers motivational and cultural activities, academic guidance, and various support services aimed at aiding students in completing their postsecondary education.
The NCMC Upward Bound program serves students from the high schools in Brookfield, Chillicothe, Gallatin, Hamilton, Trenton, and Tri-County.
