Great Plains College has announced that more than $213,000 in scholarships, bursaries, and awards have been distributed to 130 students this fall, providing a boost to those pursuing higher education.
“We understand that the financial burden can be a significant barrier for students,” said Brad Mahon, president and CEO of Great Plains College. “Our scholarship program is designed to help alleviate some of that pressure and provide a clear pathway to education that might not have been otherwise accessible. Since the program’s inception, we’ve proudly awarded nearly $2.5 million in scholarships and bursaries, supporting thousands of students in their academic journeys.”
The 2024-25 academic year also marks the introduction of two new bursaries:

"Our scholarship program is among the strongest in the province, thanks to the continued generosity of our community donors," added Mahon. "With National Philanthropy Day approaching on November 15, we extend a heartfelt thank you to all our supporters who make these opportunities possible for our students."
Applications for the 2024-25 academic year are now open. Students applying to eligible full-time programs before April 30, 2025, are automatically considered for Entrance Scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000.
