OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (April 4, 2024) — The WEOKIE Foundation has awarded 25 Oklahoma graduating high school seniors a combined $50,000 in college scholarships. Each of the 25 recipients will receive a $2,000 scholarship for their continued college education or vocational school. The winners were selected from 496 applications received.
The scholarship winners were selected through an essay-writing contest. Each student submitted an essay reflecting on the career they wish to pursue and share any challenges they might encounter to achieve their ultimate goal. The students expressed how they stepped up to the opportunity and what they learned from the experience. Applications were open to all graduating seniors in Canadian, Cleveland, Grady, Lincoln, Logan, McClain, Oklahoma, and Pottawatomi counties that reside in WEOKIE Federal Credit Union’s field of membership guidelines.
