NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – New Orleans Pelicans star CJ McCollum, in collaboration with the nonprofit College Beyond, launched the McCollum Scholars Program.
The initiative aims to provide scholarships to 10 high school students in New Orleans.
The program offers each student a scholarship of up to $80,000 over four years.
“CJ thank you for not only leading between the lines with our players but also off the court as well,” said Pelicans Vice President of Basketball Ops Swin Cash.
“We’re excited about these 10 students being able to potentially reach their goals,” said McCollum.
McCollum Scholars and College Beyond unveiled a check for one million dollars made out to the “future of young people of New Orleans.”
