Next year: I will be attending Harvard University, concentrating in mechanical engineering, with a speciality in aerospace engineering. Career goal: To be my own CEO. I will be a CEO of several startups of multifaceted interests, and will live at the intersection of engineering and business. I will have my own nonprofit STEM Bridge – Connecting Minds Across Borders, where I will work to promote accessibility of resources to underserved communities. Highlights: A cumulation of walking the runway in New York Fashion Week this past September, our annual Cross Country team trip to the largest meet in the nation, Woodbridge (and Disney the day after), and our yearly Black and Blue battle for Drumline against Will C. Wood. Scholarships, Awards: Harry and Eleanor D. Nelson Scholarship, Semi-Finalist GE Reagan Scholarship, Vacaville Rotary Club President’s Award Scholarship, Soroptimist International Violet Richardson Award, Cesar E. Chavez Scholarship, Hispanic Scholarship Fund Recipient, Chinese American Association of Solano County Scholarship, Vacaville High School Music Boosters Scholarship, Willis Jepson Middle School Music Boosters Scholarship, as well as the George V Glover VACE Memorial Scholarship. Moreover, I have received the honor of HSF Scholar, a distinction to the top 440 hispanic students in the nation. In 10 years: Sleeping. A lot. However, on a more serious note, I will be happy and fulfilled, yet never satisfied. I will continue to work towards and create new goals for myself. I will pursue any and all of my diverse interests, and always be open to new opportunities. Ultimately, I will let these opportunities guide my life. I plan to win Miss Massachusetts during my time at Harvard, and compete for Miss USA. I am beyond excited to see where life takes me, and I’m ready to find out.
