BROOKFIELD — On Sunday, 61 graduating seniors at Brookfield East and Brookfield Central high schools were awarded with scholarships from the Elmbrook Education Foundation. The funds awarded to students totaled $100,700, made possible by donations from community groups, businesses, school parent-teacher organizations, and honorary and memorial funds.
“A very special thank you to our scholarship donors. Their generosity leaves a lasting impact on our Elmbrook students for years to come,” said Beth Dobrzynski, EEF executive director.

Students are selected based on academic, athletic and community-based criteria. Since the EEF was organized in 1958, over $1.7 million has been awarded to Brookfield high school students. In 1999, the foundation began to offer teacher grants for projects and innovative classroom activities; over $745,000 has been awarded to expand upon the district’s ability to offer an enhanced curriculum.
