Every year McLaren gives out scholarships to high school seniors who plan on going into the healthcare field as they move towards higher education in the areas where they serve.
President of McLaren Thumb and Caro regions Connie Koutouzos is glad to be able to help students in their journey into the healthcare field.
"To seek a career in health care takes dedication and commitment, but more than anything, it's a sign that this individual has a desire to help and care for others," Koutouzos said. "The quality these students display makes them very deserving, and we wish them the very best in their higher education and career pursuits."

Students from Caseville, Bad Axe, Caro and Reese high schools received scholarships that will help further them in their pursuit in the medical field. McLaren Thumb Region and McLaren Caro Region foundations work with the local high school guidance counselors to review the scholarship applications where students also submit an essay to discuss their areas of interest.

"By advocating and encouraging local students' interest in medicine, we are supporting these students to pursue their dreams and goals of becoming doctors, nurses and the next generation of healthcare professionals serving our community," Koutouzos said. "And by offering these scholarships, we hope to inspire other students to consider a career in health care or one that will be a benefit to the growth and success of our society."
McLaren offers these scholarships every year and encourages students who will be graduating in 2025 to talk with their counselors about applying.
